It's a toxic man's world...A letter to the patriarchy

Dear Mr. Man,
Let me tell you a little about the people that we are.
We are strong. We are vocal. We are passionate. We know what we can bring to the table. We don’t absent-mindedly believe we can make an impact. We KNOW we can make a difference. That is because we have so much more than an idea, we have a plan. We have more than a dream, we have real goals, and quite frankly, we have a strategic way in which to achieve them. We see that change is possible.
Can you see the very obvious hypocrisy that haunts society?
Throughout their lives, men are told they have so much possibility awaiting them. They are to be proud. They are to not be afraid to stand up and speak up for what is right. They are to be movers and shakers. They are set to change the game. And any wrong doing is brushed off as “boys will be boys”.
Please, grow up Mr. Man.
We aren’t in a man’s world anymore. Women entered in long ago, and frankly, we’re here to stay.
You call us fragile because you don’t want to see us as strong. Any wrong move and we can be broken or damaged. That one peep out of our mouths in defense or to simply to explain our ability to understand and we are dismissed as sensitive, incompetent, and most annoyingly, difficult.
You’re wrong.
We aren’t weak. We aren’t fragile. We are the most strategic person around you. We see the moves we need to make, so don’t call me something I’m not because you are afraid of us owning our own space. We are BOLD. We are the power and the mind behind some great things. Welcome us to the team and don’t cast us aside. Listen to our words. Appreciate our abilities. We could be the greatest asset your space needs and we are done being small to fit into your world.
We are taking our place and we are taking up space. We deserve it. It is about time you recognized the possibilities that we have in this world.
So with all due respect, we are done being polite, suck a dick. Thank you for your time.
XOXO,
Women Everywhere
